Legal File-Sharing Networks

7-day Free trial of Napster!

There are currently millions of users downloading and trading files legally on file-sharing networks. File sharing has enabled music fans from around the world to build the largest library of recorded music in history. File sharing is not illegal as long as you obey and comply with all relevant copyright laws.

Sharing copyrighted material without the permission to do so is illegal. Stay legal and avoid breaking the law! Inside each network's members area you will find a section dedicated to showing you how to stay legal while getting access to the largest file sharing networks.
The Subscription fees paid to access these services does not relieve you of your responsibility to honor copyright law. Copyright law protects original works of authorship, including literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, and certain other intellectual compositions.

Individuals who reproduce, distribute copies, publicly perform or display works without the copyright owner's consent, may be in violation of the law. Copyright infringement can result in significant monetary damages, fines and even criminal penalties. For more information about U.S. copyright law, please click here.
